The ninth Archbishop of Colombo, the Most Rev. Dr. Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith is the second Archbishop of Colombo to be raised to the sacred position of the Cardinalate.
His contribution to Archdiocese of Colombo by introducing new aspects and new apostolates are highly noteworthy. He has come to be known in the whole of Sri Lanka because of his contributions to the local church and also to the Sri Lankan society in common.
His initiative to start many new Catholic International Schools and higher education institutes has brought about a difference in the Catholic education sector in the Archdiocese and he continues to serve the nation with commitment and vigour.
